How can we stay true to who we are while communicating in more participatory, responsible and effective ways as technology and content continue to evolve?

Last week, communications colleagues from across the Caritas Europa network came together in Antwerp for our 2026 Communications Forum!

Over two days, we discussed:

AI: what it can help us do, where to draw the line, and how to use it responsibly.

Stories: what changes when people with lived experience have a say in how their stories are told.

Reach: how young people, influencers and our Caritas identity can help build trust, strengthen our voice and connect with wider audiences.

How to communicate the EU values in an increasingly polarised world with the European Parliament

Different conversations, one common thread: people need to remain at the centre.

New tools can change how we communicate. New platforms can change where we communicate. But they shouldn’t change who we communicate for, or the dignity with which we tell their stories.

A big thank you to Caritas Vlaanderen vzw and Caritas International.be for welcoming us, and to everyone who brought their ideas, questions and experiences to the Forum.
