Today the delegation of Fire And Rescue Training Centre, Kenya – Firetrack and Polskie Centrum Pomocy Międzynarodowej (PCPM) took part in the official launch of Kenya’s National CBRN Action Plan, a milestone for the country’s preparedness in chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear hazards. The event gathered key institutions responsible for disaster management, with whom we continue to strengthen national response capability. We’ve been invited by the Ministry of Interior and National Administration.
The ceremony was honoured by Dr. Raymond Omollo, Principal Secretary for the Ministry of Interior and National Administration, as well as distinguished representatives from the United Nations, the European Union and national agencies engaged in emergency management.
PCPM was represented by Rafał Własinowicz and a team of FIRETRACK-trained fire department personnel from Nairobi and Kiambu counties, including members of the Building Disaster Search and Rescue Team. We provided operational support during the CBRN exercise conducted during the event, deploying a vehicle, equipment, and trained rescuers.
PCPM’s long-standing efforts to strengthen the rescue system and response capabilities in Kenya.
Training and delivery of equipment to the Search and Rescue Team for the Nairobi Metropolitan Area is co-financed within the framework of the Polish development cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic ofd Poland.
